If AGC has had a 20% jump in lottery sales, here's hoping their latest quarterly figures will be good. ==========================================================
March 13, 2000 HANOI LOTTERY SALES JUMP 20% WITH DAILY TELEVISED DRAWS
Calgary, Alberta: The recent start-up of daily television coverage of the draw for the Hanoi lottery has triggered a 20 per cent increase in gross lottery sales, Applied Gaming Solutions of Canada reported today.
The jump in sales is measured against the Hanoi?s lottery?s average weekly gross sales in 2000 prior to the televised draws. The daily draws are shown every evening on national television in Vietnam.
?AGC and our client, the government run Lottery Company in Vietnam, are pleased with this strong indication that modern marketing techniques will help grow the lottery business in Hanoi. The initial increase in weekly sales is gratifying but a few more weeks of increased sales will be necessary to confirm the success of the first phase of the television marketing program,? said AGC President and CEO David Aftergood. ?The national television coverage also helps prepare the market in Ho Chi Minh City for the arrival of the on-line lottery later this year.?
The daily, televised draw features both the Loto 1-2-3 and the weekly Loto 6/36 games. Hanoi?s on-line lottery was developed by AGC under contract to the government of Vietnam. AGC has an exclusive seven-year contract to provide all equipment, software, training and consulting services.
