Larry,

You wrote:
hui zhou made, I think, completely baseless indictments of human rights in America. I took him to task for that.

It was interesting to me the first time you "took him to task" that you apparently hadn't read or understood the beginning of hui zhou's remarks:

Chinese reaction from Xinhua after the new accusation of bad human rights record in china. I may not agree this article.

I'd say you made a completely baseless indictment of hui zhou. I think in your quick-trigger-happy response, you may have overlooked that hui zhou could have simply been offering you some information and not an argument. Though hui zhou may have been too polite to point out how idiotic your misreading of his post was, I think you portrayed well the dangers of oppositional polarization that have recreated conflict patterns and undermined creative collaboration in personal and political relationships for millennia.

I would have overlooked how ridiculous your initial response to hui zhou seemed if you hadn't referenced it again and gloated over it. Reread hui zhou's post and if you're man enough you might offer an apology for coming across as the kind of American that people throughout the world are scared of encountering -- especially with a gun or nuclear weapons.
