heinz,

Complacency rules...

My experiences show that the average person has absolutely
no fear that there is anything wrong with an Eldorado
scenario where everybody is getting rich, just by putting their assets into the stock market, as now more than 60% are investing in stocks and stock market funds. The only fear is the fear of not selecting the "Top Fund". All problems with state retirement funds running out of money will be solved when the population has private pension funds in the stock market.

This financial perpetuum mobile will create money for everybody and everybody will be rich in a few years as last years 60% - 80% returns are expected to continue.
Great! The Baby-Boomer retirement solved!
Any problems with inflation? No way, that problem disappeared years ago.

When the headlines read "Share holders increased their assets by 100 billions in one day!" I asked a lot of people "Where is this money that is making every investor rich coming from?". If all are winners and cash in their checks, what account will that money be taken from?
Nobody had the faintest clue.

My fear is that we will see a gigantic inverse Robin Hood transfer of assets from the average, smalltime investor with no reserves, to brokers, banks and those who can read the market and act quickly.

Selling your funds may take up to 5 days, usually 2-3 days.
We have seen examples of what can happen in ten minutes lately. Two days may be disastrous.
