Leave it to Government and our incredibly stupid President Clinton to come out and say that all of the work being done on the Human Genome project needs to be given away for free. 1) If it was going to be given away, why would anybody invest billions into the work required to obtain the knowledge. 2) How does the government expect private industry to spend future dollars on research when they plan to nationalize it. This is communism. Plain and simple. What a wonderful world we would live in if everything were free and we all worked hard just for the fun of it. Its pure fantasy. This country was built on the premise that you can work hard for something and call it yours. President Clinton and Prime Minister Blair did a major disservice to the world today....all for the political spotlight.
