ChemTrak Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif., is introducing ColoCARE, a noninvasive home diagnostic kit for the early detection of colorectal disease. The user places a test pad in the toilet after a bowel movement
and before flushing. Chemicals in the pad cause it to turn blue within 30 seconds if hidden blood is present in detectable amounts. Blood in the stool may be an early warning sign of colorectal disease, including cancer. Three consecutive tests are required. The user notes any color
