This is communism. Plain and simple. What a wonderful world we would live in if everything were free and we all worked hard just for the fun of it. Its pure fantasy. This country was built on the premise that you can work hard for something and call it yours

CRA cannot incorporate its use of government funded basic human genome research into its database and then in turn patent the derivative work. Uncle sam and us taxpayers just wouldn't stand for that. Furthermore, in my opinion no company has the right to exclusively own blueprints to the human genome. This will undoubtedly be tested in court sooner or later.

Patents could be awarded for the treatments derived from CRA's research, but to think that some corporation can actually have ownership of the structure of my or your DNA is folley.

I think many CRA holders believe that CRA would somehow own a blueprint, and that the government is setting this false belief straight.
