Ref: GMST
The Xerox/booktech.com/Reciprocal announcement may develop into a competitor to the market GMST is attempting to enter with their recent ebook/Seimens announcement. Xerox has been in the on-demand educational (textbook/course packs) book publishing market for several years. XRX derives most of its profits from consumables (specifically, toner), service contracts and printing equipment sales. These books are 8.5" x 11" and resemble manuals. It appears this new relationship allows textbooks/course packs to be viewed online. There is no mention of a non-PC based viewer. It appears to be another option for students -- paper textbooks or online textbooks. Ebooks may yet interface with this value chain if students do not want to read textbooks on paper or via PC online.

GMST is targeting the leisure time consumer market. I don't see a significant impact from the Xerox/booktech.com/Reciprocal relationship on GMST's efforts to grow the consumer and trade/periodical ebook market.
