a comment on biotechs
anyone buying biotechs generally after midFebruary, now underwater
today's Clinton announced goals of US sharing valued human genome information
most expected research-related results to be copyrightable
I have long questioned this one, bigtime

yeah, I am gonna copyright long eyelashes
yeah, you want cure to diabetes, gonna have to pay up
the govt needs to resolve this in the courts pronto
too much at stake, need encouragemt & protection for hard work and discovery

I have long maintained three curses to biotechs:
1. questionable legality of copyrighted info on humanoids
2. fickle arbitrary unpredictable draggedout shitful policy practiced by FDA
3. when #1 or #2 hit, the whole sector suffers

today factor#1 became evident
all manner of biotechs sold off, as a scare struck widespread
even biotechs having clear protected IPR were hurt

an anecdote for factor#2
last summer a friend bought shares in Sunrise
they perform corneal surgey via lasers
they had a 12-month track record of successive patient vision restorations
with evidence in hand, they paraded to FDA
they had been told that 12 months of evidence was necessary for approval
they were denied, as FDA changed its mind to 18 months
Sunrise lost 75% value next day

I hate biotechs, with scores of other tech opportunities
dont get me wrong, good luck to all who invest in them

p.s. did anyone know one cannot copyright math or statistics for isolated methods?
you can however copyright a procedure sequence

I tried to purchase my own Quality Control Mfg Procedure from numbnut Digital Equip Corp management morons in 1982
