I agree that FRAM looks formidable : access speeds of DRAM and non-volatile like flash.

But fujitsu and rmtr are only agreeing to make 4Mbit parts now. How likely is it to work and be cost effective in 96MB or 256MB packages? It will probably take a couple of years (at least) before it becomes a serious threat to the big flashram storage that is being sold today. Per MB, it will probably be expensive too for a while.

It's more likely to show up as the system ram of choice of PALM-like PDAs first to save power consumption --- interesting that all storage on PDAs are going to be non-volatile.
