Eric L: ETSI sets conditions? Why should anyone care?

Since the Q is frozen out of Europe anyway, and there is no way that the bureaucrats of ETSI (who are - how to put this gently - "beholden" to the European manufacturers) will bite the hand that feeds them, no wonder CDG refuses to kowtow.

The Q and CDMA will win where there is open competition. And a "loss" is temporary.

Nothing would be more absurd IMO than for the Q or CDG to pay the ransom ETSI demands.

But you know this guys, and I don't. Correct me if I mistaken in looking at this as blackmail not the open extended hand of "cooperation". If it is, only a fool pays.

Best regards.
