<<Buffet is an old economy investor. He is embarassed by his performance lately. He is so embarassed that he is exerting tremendous pressures on the boards of his holdings. The glaring example is his virtual destruction of KO through layoffs while holding on to the expensive art that lines KO headquarters hallways.>>

Funny you should mention that. I spent a considerable amount of time this weekend with a guy who has been with Coke for 7 years. Emory MBA. He was one of those who were laid off. He said that Coke did the right thing, that they were bloated and needed to trim down.

He also received a nice severance package and has more job offers that he knows what to do with.

Any member of any board, KO or QCOM, should insist on avoiding corporate bloat. I really don't think that this will cause, as you say, "the virtual destruction of KO."
I would, however, like to buy some of their art. They have a nice collection.
