My two cents are as follows: GENE, CRA, HGSI were used to do all the work, now the drug companies will make all the profits. All the work and investment capital used to sequence the human genome cannot be profited from. When the genome is complete, drug companies will be able to access the genome for free, and develop drugs to alter our DNA, and THAT will be able to be patented then taken to market for profit. They might send a nice thank you note to the genome companies occasionally, but no money.

To everyone's shock, the genome companies have only one choice. After they finish the genome project, they have to become drug research companies and try to use the data they discovered and try to find processes to manipulate our genes which they could then patent and market. I invested in GENE because I assumed they would be able to reap a reward from all their work in sequencing their part of the genome. I was wrong. Today I sold. Today Clinton and Blair made a terrible, socialistic mistake and investors suffer.
