Agreed, not routine accumulation. Volume 2X previous high day. Buying was frantic for about 1/2 hour, something not characteristic of typical momentum players. Action suggests somewhat desperate attempts to buy in. Desperation like this comes from the belief that they've got to get a position or miss out on whatever it was that they heard about the company. My guess is either 1) a recommendation of a resources newsletter (via e-mail early notification), 2) an exciting presentation by the company to analysts who then made a few calls to selected clients or 3) grapevine picking up early whispers of a possible joint venture on one of the two main properties. I'm assuming, of course, that there are no drill results about to be revealed. I'll be looking forward to seeing confirmation of one of these hypotheses sometime this week.
