Cormac,
I don't think at this point our visitor has anything I have any desire to share, but I have no doubt his undying belief that he has it all figured out has served him well in the pursuit of his own interests. I expect he has been quite successful. He has no doubt bullied his way past people a lot tougher than myself, never allowing himself to be confused by any facts that might suggest his thinking is wrong. I'm sure he has a wealth of information at his disposal, but he certainly has no lock on truth or understanding. His model for our certain failure is a sophomoric shoot from the hip hypothesis that he tries to pass off as a well founded and tested theory by using a little higher math to intimidate those who haven't seen it before, or convince those who have that he knows what he's talking about. Many of us here will prove him wrong, but that will not matter to anyone but those of us who do it.
I don't mean this to reflect on those among us who have participated professionally in the market, and have chosen to participate in our discussion with at least some measure of respect for our right to participate as we see fit. But in fact he has done more in his messages to expose the attitude I have found to be characteristic of many of the professionals I have dealt with than I could ever do by sharing my experience. Somehow it seems to be acceptable to lie, distort, coerce, leave clients holding the bag and then absolve themselves of any shred of conscience or responsibility by branding you a "third class sucker".
I see that as I have been writing this he is at it again. I felt compelled to post the message that sort of launched all this because I thought I detected something lurking in the background. I'm sorry in a way, but if not me someone else probably would have eventually. At this point I'm going to ignore it, and hope it fades so we can return to a constructive discussion.
