David. I noticed that also. Faber seemed intent on disparaging the upgrade, and I was surprised that Kernan did not jump to Compaq's defense as he usually does. As a matter of fact, Faber even hinted at the fact that investors might not look past the first quarter revenue miss (if indeed that happens) and might want to wait to buy the stock lower. Both seemed to agree at the end that the upgrade probably wouldn't be worth much. Just also noticed that Maria made sure to mention the possibility of a first quarter miss when discussing the upgrade, then mentioned that the release of W2K should be good for Compaq and Dell. So even good news for Compaq is slapped around, then they find a way to work a good blurb in for Dell. Talk about a pack of followers. That's why right now I have CNBC on with the sound muted (I only turn up the sound if I see a company I'm interested in flashed on the screen) and listen to Stern on the radio. By 10, I usually switch off CNBC altogether.
