It's natural to think there's link because of their business relationship. However, let's not go too far. It might be just a simple mistake from lack of research for they had to rush to be "first" or just lack of research staff. (I noticed that CNBC acts a little bit childish when LE goes to other media first. But that's not my main point.)

Whatever damage was done was done. It made CNBC look less credible. ORCL and investors got hurt materially. It'll be a nice gesture from CNBC to invite LE or Ray to give a fair chance asap. (It looks like LE likes Ron Insana. I think he is one of the best interviewers, imho.)
