Everybody has an opinion, and I don't have a problem with that. However, I think Mr. Bear should fly under his true colors. So I poke at him ever now and then just to hear him growl. <G>

What you said was true last year. It"s reflected in the stock price.

This year is a different story. I read the Compaq plan presented to the analysts. I have a different opinion. It will take some time to see bottom line results. After all, you can't turn the Queen Mary as fast as a speed boat.

I am disappointed about progress on staff reductions or lack of news on the subject. Maybe there is a good reason for it. I don't know, but I have some ideas on the topic. At the same time, I have great hopes for iPaq, Wildfire, Services, SANs storage, and several other areas.

The past is over, done, gone. It's OK to think about it ever now and then, but to dwell on it is a mistake. The key to Compaq's value is in the future not the past.

Right now, maybe you are right and I'm wrong. More then likely we are both wrong and something we don't know about will determine the price. In that case, let's be honest. We are all at Compaq's dice table hoping to throw a bunch of sevens. So why not have some fun doing it? <G>
