Monaco,

I would score that deal as a ten pin knock-down, a strike.

>>Highlander works with Inprise Corporation (also known as Inprise/Borland) to produce the VisiBroker embedded object request broker (ORB), which is compatible with both Wind River's pSOS(TM) and VxWorks© real time operating systems (RTOS).<<

Inprise's 30 million VisiBroker licenses are held by some pretty big players. These are not the Net Fridge/Toasters guys: Ericsson, HP, EMC(DGN), ORCL, Sun -

inprise.com

VisiBroker can do CORBA development with Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), and by extension, deliver rapid application development in intelligent Jiro devices. That's going to be big in smart networks. There's a Java-Linux hook also.

Ken Black, president of Highlander, said ``The same major benefits that CORBA provides in the enterprise environment are applicable to other products using embedded technology. CORBA lets software developers build complex, distributed object-based applications with near universal interoperability among diverse programming languages and hardware architectures. Wind River's support allows us to continue to strengthen this powerful technology.'

Looks like Wind is rolling towards a high score game.
