Last night the local evening news reported that property tax assessments have gone up so much in parts of Fairfax County this year that old people who live in places like McLean are telling the tax assessor that they will have to sell out and move. The Board of Supervisors is going to consider capping annual increases at no more than 10%. Ours hasn't been reassessed yet, not looking forward to it. A couple of blocks up the street some developers are building a few houses on some formerly wooded acres, houses appear to be about 6,000 sq. ft. and will be priced in the $450K range - cheap for California, but this isn't California. I guess if we aren't going to have BK someone will actually buy them.
