EMC will do just fine, but NTAP is a very real threat (and is on sale today!) EMC can be likened to the mainframe guys of yore. Their culture and customer relationships have evloved from the raised floor mentality. Their leadership is from the mainframe and service world. They have a customer base that will actually become a hindrance to product change. (Read "The Innovators' Dilemma".) NTAP is the technology, appropriately protected by patents, that provides the best price/performance for NAS and is well along on NAS/SAN integration. IMO, if EMC was limber enough to adopt to disruptive technology, we would have seen effective NAS products by now.
