PacNet said in a statement the Heads of Agreement (HoA) was
signed with In2Cable.Com(India) Private Ltd, a subsidiary of
Hinduja Finance Corporation Ltd and Thakral Brothers.
"Under the terms of the HoA, Pacific Internet and the
Hinduja Group will each take a 37 percent stake in Pacific
Internet India, with the Thakral Group taking the remaining 26
percent stake," it said.
"Negotiations are currently underway to complete and
formalise the joint venture agreement," it said.
PacNet launched Internet access services in India in
January.
"The joint venture agreement being finalised will give
Pacific Internet India exclusive use of Hinduja's extensive
cable network," M.Pillai, President of Pacific Internet India,
said in the statement.
He said the joint venture firm would also benefit from
synergies with the Hinduja Group in areas of fibre
infrastructure, information technology services, local content
and sales distribution networks.
