Hey, AM - haven't seen much of you since the gut wrenching days of CYMI's melt down. Whatcha' doin with all them furs, man? <g> Wow, I never thought of those villager types having no money. Bad news. What the hell do they pay their Visa bill with? <vbg>

As anyone who has traveled off the beaten path can tell you (and I know you know this, but since you brought it up) remote does not necessarily equate with poor. I'm always astounded on trips down the baja peninsula at the number of towns and villages, thriving if you discount the techno luxuries we take for granted, with no phones. But no money? Hardly. Fiberglass pangas with 50 horse yamahas on the stern, clothing stores, grocery stores, bars - but no phone. I've never had a problem paying with dollars, often getting dollars in return, more often pesos. Nary a root or fur to be seen. These are people living well, wedded to their land or fishing - and perfectly willing to incorporate whatever technology makes life easier once it's made available. G* just installed their phone system. I'm betting pretty heavily they'll buy those phones by the village full.

I just don't know who's going to push the product. Maybe you and I should head down there with a truck load. Leave the roots and furs at home, but chewing gum and candy bars go over big with the kids.
