WDC sure was $55 a share back then SW. The disk drive stocks continued to rise even after semiconductor stocks started to tank. If you ask me this is and will remain a cyclical business. Smart investors take advantage of the cycles. When WDC was at 55 the company was making money like you would not believe...

So were many other companies in the field. They started lots of new fabrication facilities, prices fell as production severely outstripped demand laving many companies unprofitable. Now the companies have downsized and we should see a replay of of profitable times for company's like WDC in the sector.
