unchanged last month, including energy, due to the sampling day being judiciously placed on January 13, just as crude, distillates and various industrial metals made a correction low.
in any case, raw and intermediate goods prices are at their fastest upward trajectory since 1974...they bottomed at the height of the Asian crisis in '98. the conclusion remains the same: either margins are going to get squeezed mightily (see PG) or the price rises will be passed on.
