btw, one of the more intelligent bulls (yes, they exist) who's posting on LW has proposed that we have already gone through the 'downgrade' of the k-wave, or rather are very near to the end thereof (2004 proposed ending point) and that the market is preparing for the K-wave upgrade period (mildly inflationary and very good for stocks) which would suggest a several year long consolidation period for the market, sort of like the broad trading range of '66 - '82, only shorter and less violent, after which the next big move up would begin.
it's a reasonable alternative to the crash-and-burn scenario i guess, although i myself find it improbable.
just throwing it out for consideration...
