I don't know why they would care if the sats knocked out a space shuttle or the white house at this point, from a strategy standpoint. I suspect they are trying to force a response from someone like DoD. Burning them up seems pretty extreme. Shit, DoD could use them to start dropping on Peking every night for two months straight and give those bastards something else to think about than nuking the world. -g-
