Terrence, I believe a good solution to the welfare problem would be
labor camps. Now before everyone starts calling me a Nazi let me
explain. The welfare recipient would not be forced at gunpoint.
The choice would be to go to the labor camp where they will recieve
room, board, medical care and an opportunity to develop a
skill. The camp would also have schools for their children.
The recipient would be required to WORK forty hours a week or be
forced to leave the camp. Anyone could leave the camp at any time.
However, outside of the camp, there would be NO federal or state
welfare programs, no food stamps, no section 8, no medicaid, nothing, zero, zip. This will force unmotivated individuals to learn a trade and prepare themselves for mainstream society or spend
their life in the camp.
The source for the work would come from private industry which would build factories in the camps. If this does'nt work nothing will. IMHO
