I've got a question for Anthony or anyone else who's interested in answering. Someone on another thread keeps insisting that it is illegal to short sell a stock within 30 days of an IPO. Can this be true? Many posters here on SI bragg about short selling various stocks on the same day as their IPO and I believe them. I'm wondering if perhaps brokerage houses set their own rules about this. If there are any SEC regulations pertinent to the matter, I am unaware of them. Would appreciate any comments about this topic.
