If you go to the a news stand this week you will see that Forbes magazine has 4 (count 'em, four!) different covers for the March 20, 2000 issue. Kobe Bryant, Britney Spears, Regis Philbin and Anna Kournikova are featured. The content of each magazine is the same. You can imagine that the marketing division felt they could appeal to Afro-American investors, teenage wannabees with E-Trade accounts, rich retirees, the country club jet set and a multitude of other overlapping demographic groups with this issue.

As we discussed earlier, market segmentation is an important phenomenon which needs to be addressed...
