I find a disconnect between Jim's perception of the situation and Suzanne's. He seems totally oblivious to the fact that Suzanne was upset. Even if she hid her feelings at the time...he still seems perplexed by the fact she was upset as indicated in the 20/20 transcript (I believe he asked why? when someone brought up the subject.)

Having written an undergraduate and a doctoral thesis, I can tell you this: you care about it a helluva lot more than your adviser does. He's a figure of far greater importance in your life than you are in his.

I don't really have a problem with any of this. Jim probably waasn't aware that Suzanne was as upset as her friends and family say she was. He knew he'd be able to finish up with his comments on Saturday afternoon, no doubt in a short time. Then she'd have all day Sunday and Monday to make the necessary revisions and hand the thing in.

To him it wouldn't have seems to be a biggie. She must have been chewing her nails.
