We bought Novartis about 3 yrs ago and held on to it for about a year. We bought it at around 87 and sold it for about the same. It has not done much since then as this past year's high was briefly around 95 and it is now trading in the low 60's. I think people are reluctant with ADR's since foriegn exchange rates are involved as well. Novartis also owns Gerber baby products and makes vaccines for farm animals and many other products. Maybe it is not focused enough and too diversified of a drug company to attract the average investor. Don't really know but I wish them well in their research.
