Pradhan Goes To Jail, Claims Witch Hunt home1.gte.net By ASHFAQUE SWAPAN, Special to India-West A distinguished former computer science professor at Texas A&M university in College Station, Texas, went to jail for 60 days as part of a plea bargain involving unauthorized use of photocopying facilities, but claimed bitterly that he was a victim of a university witch hunt. Dhiraj K. Pradhan, who was the university's ninth highest paid professor and held an endowed chair until last year, went to Brazos County jail March 7 following pleading true to "26 instances of theft from the university of Texas A&M system," said a county district attorney press release. However, before going to jail, Pradhan, in a phone conversation with India-West, said the entire exercise was a witch hunt because he had raised questions about academic autonomy and bucked efforts to impose a post tenure review, and added that this has come on top of racial harassment he has had to suffer from day one..... indiawest.com
