Let me make it clear. If you go back and read the thread, you will see that your point seemed to be that while technology may improve productivity, and pressured companies will need productivity growth badly, technology is still a bad investment (contrary to my claim) since most productivity enhancing technology has already been invented, and gave the BMW JIT as an example. I have no interest in the specific example, but I think that your general attitude is either pessimistic or inconsistent (if, as you say, you do believe in technology led human progress after all).

It amazes me that while we are having this debate, the NPR Science Friday topic of discussion is how to contain extremely rapid technology-based future progress.

If you still do not see the point, you will have to excuse me. This is going to be the last post by me on this issue.
