I think that in years past, last quarter results v. guidance would have warranted a revision. John, Good point. It may be that now that earnings are "tainted" by capital gains, the old rules no longer apply. Certainly, earnings are no longer as important as forward guidance, and anyone (Michael B. comes to mind <g>) that still thinks earnings rather than guidance is most important is likely to mislead themselves.
