Hi Mephisto. Thanks for your kindly response and the clarification. I agree with everything you had to say.

First of all, I think SUNW, EMC, Cisco and Oracle are all excellent companies to own - and if you got into them at significantly lower prices than where they are today, you have chosen well - congratulations.

Also, I agree that only relying on today's news (such as in the WSJ) to make tomorrow's investment decisions could be a recipe for personal financial disaster. Much research, analysis and consideration must also be applied.

I too read the New York Times every day - great paper.

I cut and pasted the "Big Cap Stocks Are A Sucker Bet" into an e-mail to a very old and trusted investor friend, and got a very interesting and valuable response.

If you will 'private message' your e-mail address to me, I will forward both the article and my friends comments.

Actually, I may post both here (but I have to consider if I want to do that).
