Jeff, it's interesting that your the second person in the last few days who's made the same complaint about the credit card companies. My husband lost our GM Mastercard last year, and there were charges made on it by whoever 'found' it (we're still not sure, his pocket may have been picked). With a simple call to the customer service 800 number and signing a form and faxing it back the charges disappeared. It was actually quite painless. With the competition among card issuers nowadays, I'd have switched if it hadn't been so painless.
