I responded to your reply today but it vanished somewhere in the ether. So, here goes again.

To find out the IP address you have been allocated by your ISP, click Start, Run Program, and type "winipcfg" in the box. This will give you all the IP details you need.

Your ISP sets a "lease" period for you to use your IP address which may be hours, days or weeks. My ISP hasn't changed mine even after powering down for a weekend. Try it yourself and let us know your experience.

Of course, the above is for Win95/98/NT systems.DS
