I don't know Bob, seems an option to back out of the deal penalty free if ALA fell to unacceptable levels would have been the way to go. If I were to guess, this is the best deal NN could negotiate, suggesting to me they may have been pretty hard up. Couldn't survive alone much longer IMO. For this reason alone I don't believe NN could have achived mid thirties on it's own this year short of another suitor. ALA has breathed new life into the stock/company as now customers of NN technology can buy with confidence, no longer worrying where the company may land.

FWIW, I doubt ALA will fall much farther over this, and like some others suspect ALA will take NN well over the 35 level by Mid-May. 45 might be a little high, but I don't believe much will stop ALA from achieving 75-80 by year end...unless they buy K-Mart<g>.

I didn't mean to come on quite so strong on the issue. If you are interested in the combination, hope you'll give it a fair chance. That said, I'm a little frustrated with the street reception so far also.
