As for the thesis part, you also have to think back to your college days. Do you think your thesis advisor had a clue how you were feeling about your thesis?

I never wrote a thesis in college..maybe it is a liberal arts thing.

And yes I do believe that professors understand the types of stress students go through. Ie they probably know that students are stressed at mid terms and finals. They probably know that students feel relief after finals are over.

You seem to be missing my point. Forget about the fact he was a thesis advisor. He can look at a situation just like we can. You and Janice and I have indicated we can understand why Suzanne may have been upset. Looking back on the situation one year later why can't Jim see the fact that Suzanne may have had a reason to be upset?

Are you saying thesis advisors in general believe students are not in a higher state of stress as they near the completion date of their thesis? It seems like common sense to me. I do not see how anyone can argue the fact.
