Unit Trust of India to Raise $100 Mln for Internet Venture Fund 3/17/00 11:39:00 PM Source: Bloomberg News Mumbai, March 18 (Bloomberg) -- Unit Trust of India, the country's biggest mutual fund, hopes to raise $100 million from overseas investors for a venture capital fund, the Business Standard reported, citing Chairman P.S. Subramanyam. The mutual fund will raise an additional 1.3 billion rupees from local investors for the venture plan that will invest in Internet startups. Unit Trust will raise the money in the next 15 days, the daily said. State-owned Unit Trust of India, the country's oldest mutual fund company, manages 672 billion rupees ($15.43 billion) in Indian stocks and bonds.
