--OT-- Since you brought it up, Bob, I will add my 2 cents -- if the EU were to "kick Austria out" as you suggest, I want no part of anything EU.
As far as I know, Austria is a democratic country that holds free and open elections. It does not bother its neighbors. Its citizens, in my experience, are decent, cultured, respectful, warm and pleasant people.
It is not up to the EU to tell Austrians (or any other member country) who they may elect. Bob, if David Duke had become Governor of Louisiana, should the U.S. have thrown the state out of the union -- if he had been elected to the congress, would he have been allowed to take his seat?
IMO, when other countries or special interest groups try to interfere with the governments of peaceful democratic states, nothing but trouble results. Playing the "morally superior card" does not change this.
Personally, I liked the old Europe better than the new Europe and see much mischief ahead. Investing abroad is always "extra" exciting.
Apologies for the completely OT post, but not the sentiments.
