Talking of AMZN,

Last night I was in a bar I hang out on a suburb of Athens and I saw a friend from my years in London where we took our Masters in Finance together. I told him what I was doing and he seemed thrilled with the Nazdaq and tech companies in general. I cautioned him on the extreme valuations and the fragility of the US market but he seemed unconvinced and challenged me with the "new era" houpla. After arguing with him for awhile I found out he had attended a lecture from an internet "guru" at a Greek hi-tech expo. Needless to say my arguments were falling on deaf ears. This is a guy with whom a few years back we were studying Net Present Values, discounted cash flows and prudent portfolio management. Yet the last 50% move on the Nasdaq and an internet lecture has turned him into a fearless bubbleonian wanting to buy AMZN and bashing Barnes and Noble. And all this at a local bar in Greece.

We're doomed.
