1. Met initially on the internet while searching for data on thesis???

If they met through the Internet then there would most likely be some tracks in her computer. I would guess (hope) that it has been thoroughly checked. I suspect that the check was not as complete as it could have been. It would require visiting links in the history folder as well as undeleting info.

I believe Suzanne would have been careful in her Internet dealings. I have trouble envisioning a scenario in which she meets with a person she met while on the web.

If one could come up with a clandestine meet scenario...what better place than the hockey game? It is a public place with a lot of people. Suzanne was walking in the direction of the rink.

2. Met locally in day to day life somewhere??

I believe it could have been a classmate in Jim's class. The classes were popular and oversubscribed. I believe this may have been due in part to the subject matter of the classes. Jim also had a background in military intelligence. Wasn't the subject matter International politics?

It would not surprise me if there were one or two students that were attracted to the class for non academic reasons.

How many students were in the class? Were they checked out? Did a classmate reveal something to Suzanne that he later regretted?
