<I'm a Platinum Sig client and I receive a Gains/Loss Report at the end of the year. I'm now sitting in front of Turbo Tax and realize I have a lot of manual entries to make.> Schwab will be my biggest source of pain this yr as it relates to tax filing...all my friends using the likes of etrade can get not only a full P&L, but also a complete matching of all their trades...in the case of Schwab, I have found that if you call them AT THE START OF THE YEAR, they will pull together a list matching all trades...however, while I did this one yr ago, Schwab indicates they have no such records and I will have to manually match some 200-300 trades...also, the gains and losses report is useless for anything older than 6 months (requires manual entry) and even the more current stuff is plain WRONG!!...pure pain and may send me in the direction of dumping Schwab this year for Merrill or some other.
