"Making Novell an Internet Leader --- Some Strategies and
Proposals"

Time: Sunday March 26th (between noon & 6PM-7PM)
Location: RedRock microbrewery that's right next door to the convention center

Have you got some strategy or proposal for making Novell an internet leader? Did anyone listen to you? Come join us. We'll be taking notes.

You never know where your ideas may end up.

Abstract:

When Eric Schmidt became CEO of Novell he indicated his goal was to make Novell an internet leader. Is Novell an internet leader today?

Discussion will focus upon whether Schmidt's strategy of selling internet infrastructure software can bring revenue to the company. Has the end user been left behind? Will Dell sell Novell? Is Netware about to unbundle into appliances? Or is the legacy force of empire about to sap the last drop of creativity from its engineering victim? Will "community" and "trust" save the Novell bottom line? Will internet chat drive the elderly members of the Novell BOD crazy? Will someone turn a nanomachine loose in Bill Joy's bottled water? Will securing an individuals identity on the internet actually make it into a Novell product this year? Will Novell discover there are corporate end users in the universe and not just network administrators?

Beer is optional. Meet those crazy people you chat with on line and discover they aren't virtual.

Buzzwords: internal/external marketing polarity, net services, building out from the enterprise base, eYouNameIt, eEtc., legacy, creativity, P/E ratios.

Peter, I've printed it out and put it into my suitcase.
