Golden Fortune Investments Limited announces China Wireless Project 'Gateway' Update
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 2000--Golden Fortune Investments Limited (a publicly traded company on the Canadian Venture Exchange: GFX) is pleased to announce that funding has been provided for the certification stage of the wireless Project "Gateway" in China.
As part of the certification process, Golden Fortune's partners in China have submitted an application to the China Radio Frequency Management Commission for the frequency allocation of the 2.4 GHz ISM band.
Golden Fortune submitted WaveRider Communication Inc.'s (OTCBB:WAVC) NCL135 wireless modem to the Chinese government for specification testing in August of 1999. The tests met and exceeded current Chinese government requirements, allowing Nanjing Orient Railway Communications Equipment Co. Ltd.(NORCEL), Golden Fortune's Joint Venture manufacturing partner, to apply for the certification of the NCL family of products with China's Department of Trade and Commerce. Product certification is similar to receiving Standards Approval in the United States and Canada.
WaveRider's, Mike Orloff, Vice-President, International and Bruce Weir, Senior Product Support Manager have visited NORCEL's operations facilities and conducted a two-day technical and product orientation seminar for NORCEL's senior technical staff. Richard Guo, General Manager of WaveRider's Beijing Representative Office is currently working with NORCEL's management to advance the "Gateway" wireless Internet Project.
Golden Fortune Investments Ltd. and NORCEL are working closely with Waverider Communications Inc. to plan the programs that will be implemented by NORCEL for the training, marketing, sales, installation, support and local assembly processes to be phased in at NORCEL's facilities in Nanjing.
