Scumbria, That comment from Pawl reminds me of the Sov era explanation of the lack of goods in Russian supermarkets and the enormous choice available in the USA. Said Pravda: "The citizens of the USSR are so much better off financially than those in the USA that they immediately buy all the goods for sale in the shops, leaving the shelves bare, whereas the impoverished Americans can only gaze in envy at what they cannot afford to buy, leaving the shops full of unsold goods" (90% accurate recollection of the quote). Seems similar to the Pawl Ratchet. Bill
