ELON--Echelon and Partners Demonstrate the Era of Open LONWORKS Building Systems at Light Building 2000 BUSINESS WIRE - March 20, 2000 08:21 AMERSFOORT, The Netherlands, Mar 20, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Echelon Corporation (Nasdaq:ELON), the worldwide leader in networking everyday devices, announced that it is showcasing its leadership position in the building automation industry today at the Light Building 2000 show in Frankfurt, Germany.
Forty-five Echelon customers, including ABB Gebaudeautomation, ELSO GmbH, Honeywell AG, Landis & Staefa, REKO, and Telia AB are exhibiting in a joint booth to demonstrate how, and why, the LONWORKS(R) platform is becoming the standard for networking everyday devices in buildings -- providing automation solutions throughout Europe and around the globe. The 400 square meter (4,300 square foot) LONWORKS showcase is expected to be the largest single display of products and companies supporting an open building control technology at any European show in 2000.
In the booth in hall 9.2, stand D40, Echelon partner companies are showcasing a comprehensive set of LONWORKS solutions for the building industry, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, fire safety, window covering, flexible wall and door systems, access, food and beverage, plumbing, and more. Additionally, Echelon is demonstrating Internet command and control via the company's i.LON(tm) 1000 Internet server, which is controlling lighting, blinds, security, and door access in the booth plus performing various monitoring functions including light, presence, and temperature at remote sights in California and the United Kingdom.
Also on display in the booth will be the LONMARK(R) "Wall of Fame" featuring certified devices from manufacturers around the world. LONMARK certification guarantees that products have met a stringent series of interoperability guidelines, enabling them interoperate across a LONWORKS network as "plug and play" devices.
"Light Building is an important show for Echelon and the LONWORKS industry," said Frits Bruggink, Echelon's vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa. "As the largest show in Europe focused on the lighting and building industry, it provides a perfect opportunity for Echelon and our partners to demonstrate not only the market leadership of our solution, but also the cost, quality, and performance improvements that open, multi-vendor, interoperable LONWORKS networks bring to the building industry."
In addition to the companies named above, the following Echelon partners will be participating in the joint booth: A3M; AGEKO Leitsystem-Technik GmbH; ARIGO GmbH; B&R Electro-Steuerungstechnik; Boos Klima und Kalte GmbH; Compwell Ltd.; Dietzel GmbH; Elform; GEA Happel Klimatechnik GmbH; Gesytec; Grundfos GmbH; Gruner AG; GWD Consulting GmbH; Heimeier Metallwerk GmbH & Co.; Helvar GmbH; HGI; Huppe; ICON Intelligent Control GmbH; JCI Regelungstechnik GmbH; Kieback & Peter; KIMO Industrie Elektronik GmbH; KSB; Littwin GmbH; Newron System; Nodus GmbH; SAIA Burgess Electronics GmbH; Samson AG; SICOTRONIC GmbH; Siganet; SOMFY GmbH; SysMik GmbH Dresden; TAC GmbH Control Systems; TLON GmbH; Tormax Alps; Trox GmbH; Vescon Systemtechnik; Unitro-Fleischmann; Weidmuller GmbH & Co.; and Who Ingenieurgesellschaft GmbH.
