Then subtract the companies who make more money through selling puts in the stock market than they do through operations, and then subtract the companies who would be firmly in the red if they paid their employees with cash instead of stock, and i'm afraid there isnt a single company left on the nasdaq that has any earnings at all. Yet the vast majority of "wealth" from individual investors in this country is concentrated in those exact companies.
