Movement over last 2-4 weeks probably drive by the question - if all these IDMs are planning 300mm fabs with production qty in 2H01 and 02, where are they going to get wafers from? LRCX CEO at conference 2 wks ago commented that availability of (or lackthereof) 300mm wafers could delay transition. Today's move - probably trading desks buying in advance of conference in NY of semi cap equip companies - WFR among them.
